Marion Kirkland Reid (born Marion Kirkland c. 1817, died c. 1920) was an influential Scottish feminist writer, notable for her A Plea for Woman (1843) [1] which was published in the United States in 1847, 1848, 1851, and 1852 as Woman, her Education and Influence.[2]
Her father was a merchant in Glasgow.[2] Kirkland married Hugo Reid in 1839.[2] She was a member of the Ladies National Association for the Repeal of the Contagious Diseases Acts.
Date of death 1902. Lived with her daughter in Hammersmith, London after husband Hugo died (1872).
